After hearing growing concerns from residents, I’ve been looking closely into the issue of speeding in Shenstone. I recently held a community coffee morning to hear directly from local residents, and it’s clear that many feel the village roads are no longer safe — particularly for children, older residents, and vulnerable road users.
Introducing a 20mph speed limit on key village roads would be a simple but vital step to reduce accidents and improve safety for everyone.
During a visit to Shenstone Lodge School, I saw first-hand how dangerous driving and speeding are putting children and vulnerable young people at risk. I’m backing their campaign to lower the current 50mph speed limit to 30mph.
Let’s work together to make road safety a priority in Shenstone.
